DEF Forum

he African Remittance Institute (AIR) in collaboration with African Diaspora organizations in Europe, has created the Diaspora Engagement Forum (DEF).

It is a platform that brings together experts, AU and EU authorities and allows the diaspora to express themselves and explore the limits and opportunities that the funds they send represent for financing inclusive development in Africa.

Since the creation of this platform in 2016, the Circle of Excellence has been part of DEF's organizing committee.

Forum DEF 2023 Brussels

s part of the preparations for the forum to be held in Brussels on 9 June 2023, the Circle of Excellence was honoured to receive, from 16 to 17 September 2022, Mr Amadou Cissé, Executive Director of the African Institute for Remittances (A.I.R), his delegation, and several representatives of associations of the African diaspora.

Diaspora associations from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Sweden, England, Norway, Spain and Belgium.

The Circle of Excellence worked with the Brussels Africa Hub in the preparation of this forum.

By involving other associations and members of Belgium's African diaspora, the the Circle of Excellence is demonstrating its commitment to solidarity and collaboration within the diaspora around common themes.

Above all, it expresses its deep gratitude to all those who have accepted its invitation.
